Dr Vanessa obtained FRCS, (Fellowship Of Royal College of Surgeons, Glasgow) in Ophthalmology in 2003.
Underwent Oculoplastic Subspeciality surgical training in Rotterdam Eye Hospital- Netherlands, National University Hospital- Singapore and Serdang Hospital - Malaysia.
Founding member and at present, Chairperson of Malaysian Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Started the Oculoplastic Department in the Penang General Hospital, Malaysia.
Currently practising in Island Hospital, Penang, Malaysia since 2016.
Councillor in the APSOPRS (Asia Pacific Society of Oculoplastic and
reconstructive surgery) since 2018.
Part of executive committee in WOW (Women Ophthalmologist Worldwide)
Excellence Service award by Ministry of Health Malaysia
Excellence Service Award by Malaysian Society of Ophthalmology
Actively involved in presentations (local and international meetings) and publications in International Peer reviewed Journals in Ophthalmic & Oculoplastic Surgery.
