Dr SK Tan
Dr SK Tan graduated in 1971, from the University of Malaya and his interest in dermatology led him to train and work at the prestigious St John’s Institute of Dermatology in London in the 1970s and he has since been focused in the field of aesthetic dermatology, with research interests in acne and hyperpigmentation.
In 1998 he started the DRx Clinic, which was subsequently acquired by an Indian MNC. He then Co-Founded the JYSK Group and IDS Clinic in 2014.
He has built successful businesses in the application of science to create solutions in skincare, cosmeceuticals and molecular delivery technology. The JYSK group, in addition to owning several International Patents, now boasts various aesthetics and medical affiliates such as IDS (Innovative Dermatological Solutions) Clinic, IDS Aesthetics, IDS Skincare.
The JYSK group are also significant equity shareholders in Illustris (R&D in Molecular Delivery Technology in USA), and Novaremed (R&D in Pharmaceuticals in Switzerland).
He was a co-editor of “Handbook of Cosmetic Microbiology”, a reference book published by Marcel Dekker, and his clinical and research papers have been published in international dermatology journals. He has also contributed a chapter in the reference book ‘Pigmentary Disorders: A Comprehensive Compendium’.
