Dr Alene Ng
Dr. Alene Ng Ker Hsin is an Ophthalmologist based at Southern Specialist Eye Centre / International Specialist Eye Centre (ISEC) Melaka, Malaysia, with subspecialty interests in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery involving the eyelids, lacrimal system, and orbit. She obtained her Masters of Ophthalmology from the University of Malaya.
Dr. Alene is a recipient of both the prestigious APSOPRS and APAO International Clinical Fellowships in Oculoplastic and Orbital Surgery, through which she underwent formal subspecialty training at Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, Bangkok (preceptors: A/Prof. Pimkwan Jaru-ampornpan and Prof. Kanograt Pornpanich) and The Chinese University of Hong Kong (preceptors: A/Prof. Kelvin Chong Kam Lung and Prof. Hunter Yuen Kwok Lai), respectively. Her global training is further enriched by clinical attachments at leading centres including Samsung Medical Center, Asan Medical Center, and Nune Eye Hospital in Seoul, South Korea, as well as St James’s University Hospital, Leeds, United Kingdom, under the mentorship of internationally renowned oculoplastic surgeons.
In addition, she has advanced expertise in cataract and refractive surgery, having earned a Postgraduate Diploma with Distinction from the United Kingdom. She is actively engaged in academic research, with presentations at national and international conferences. Recognised with multiple awards and travel grants, she continues to contribute to advancing clinical practice.
Dr. Alene is deeply committed to education, mentorship, and international collaboration, and remains actively involved in medical volunteerism and community eye care outreach.
