Dr Evelyn Tai
Dr. Evelyn Tai is an ophthalmologist with subspecialty training in oculoplastic, orbital, and lacrimal surgery. She obtained her Doctor of Medicine and Master of Medicine in Ophthalmology from Universiti Sains Malaysia and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (UK). Her advanced training includes a Certificate of Laser and Refractive Surgery (UK) and completion of subspecialty training in oculoplastic surgery in Malaysia, as well as a formal Fellowship in Oculoplastic, Orbital, and Lacrimal Surgery in the United Kingdom.
Dr. Tai is actively involved in academic ophthalmology and research. She serves as an Editorial Board Member of BMC Ophthalmology and a Subeditor for the Malaysian Journal of Medical Sciences. She has authored 68 peer-reviewed journal publications, with over 590 citations. Her academic contributions have been recognised through multiple awards, including the Fellowship of the International Council of Ophthalmology, the Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology Yasuo Tano Travel Grant, and the Japanese Ophthalmological Society International Young Investigator Award.
In addition, Dr. Tai plays an active role in postgraduate education and assessment as Chairperson of the Sub-Committee on Question Vetting for the Master of Medicine (Ophthalmology) Part II Examination, and as an Examiner for FRCOphth and the Malaysian Master of Medicine (Ophthalmology) examinations.
