Dr Stephanie Young
Dr Stephanie Young is the Director of Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and Senior Consultant Eye Surgeon at Eagle Eye Centre. She is also the Medical Director of Eagle Aesthetics & Surgery. She is a visiting consultant to the Ophthalmology Department in National University Hospital (NUH) and honorary Assistant Professor with National University of Singapore (NUS).
Dr Young has a special interest in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery of the eyelids, lacrimal system and orbit. She is particularly interested in surgical and non-surgical rejuvenation of the eyes and face. A large portion of her work focuses on eyelid surgery for functional and cosmetic indications, and treats many patients with droopy eyelids, eyelid malpositions, double eye lid creation and more. She is active in Oculoplastic-related research and has published more than 40 papers on the subject in peer-reviewed journals and several book chapters. She has also won several awards including: Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology Achievement Award, American Academy of Ophthalmology Achievement Award, Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology Best Scientific Paper Awards, and Wong Hock Boon Society Outstanding Mentor Award.
She has obtained Fellowships from The Royal College of Ophthalmologists (London) and Academy of Medicine (Singapore), won the NUS Gold Medal and Book Prize in Ophthalmology, and received Distinction Award for Ophthalmology-related research for her Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program. She has completed two Oculoplastic fellowships: National University Hospital, Singapore (mentors: Dr Gangadhar Sundar and Prof Shantha Amrith), Samsung Medical Center, Seoul, South Korea (mentors: Prof
