Dr. Teoh is an accomplished clinician specializing in family and obesity medicine. In addition to four years of family medicine training, he has completed the University of Ottawa’s Bariatric Medicine Fellowship, China Medical University Hospital’s Clinical Bariatric Fellowship, and the Cleveland Clinic’s Obesity Medicine Preceptorship.
Dr. Teoh established his obesity medicine practice at USM Medical Centre and Sunway Medical Centre Penang. He has received numerous international recognitions, including the Obesity Medicine Association (OMA)'s Peter G. Lindner Award, designation as a Fellow of the OMA, Fellow of the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine, the World Obesity Federation’s SCOPE National Fellowship, and selection for the inaugural SCOPE Leadership Program.
Dr. Teoh currently serves as the Vice President of the Malaysian Obesity Society and as Auditor for the Malaysian Association for the Study of Obesity. He previously served as a committee member of the OMA from 2022 to 2024. Additionally, he is a member of Obesity Canada, the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders, The Obesity Society, and the Malaysian Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
Dr. Teoh has shared his expertise with healthcare professionals through numerous speaking engagements at conferences, workshops, and continuous medical education events at national and international levels.
