Dr Taro Kono
Dr. Taro Kono is a professor at the Department of Plastic Surgery at Tokai University School of Medicine in Japan and a visiting professor at Nippon University. He earned his M.D. from Kagoshima University in 1993 and completed his plastic and reconstructive surgery training at Tokyo Women’s Medical University and Metropolitan General Hospital. He later obtained his Ph.D. from Tokyo Women’s Medical University in 2006.
Dr. Kono is a leader in plastic surgery and laser medicine, serving as President of the Japanese Society of Surgical Dermatology and holding board positions in multiple societies, including the Japanese Society for Laser Surgery and Medicine and the Japanese Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He is also a fellow of the American Society of Laser Surgery and Medicine and an active member of international plastic and reconstructive surgery organizations.
In addition to his clinical and academic roles, Dr. Kono is an associate editor for Lasers in Medical Science and Laser Surgery and Medicine and reviews manuscripts for 18 international journals. His expertise covers surgical dermatology, laser treatments, and aesthetic plastic surgery.
