Dr Hanida Hanafi
Dr. Hanida Hanafi is a dedicated and highly experienced Consultant Ophthalmologist and Oculoplastic Surgeon with over 20 years of medical practice and 15 years as a specialist. She is an expert in oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery, having completed fellowship training at Hospital Sultan Idris Shah, Serdang, Malaysia, and The Rotterdam Eye Hospital, The Netherlands.
She is recognized for pioneering oculoplastic services in Sabah, where she established and led the state’s first comprehensive oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery service at Hospital Queen Elizabeth. During her tenure, she served as a key referral surgeon for the Borneo region, managing a high volume of complex eyelid and orbital cases in both pediatric and adult populations, while also contributing to the training of medical officers and residents.
Dr. Hanida is currently serving as a Consultant Ophthalmologist and Oculoplastic Surgeon at Hospital Sultan Idris Shah (HSIS), Serdang, where she provides advanced tertiary care for complex eyelid, lacrimal, and orbital conditions and works closely with multidisciplinary teams in the management of craniofacial and orbital cases.
